Today we will be bringing out the blue steps for our new movement, box jumps! Box jumps are one of many plyometric exercises that will help athletes develop coordination, agility, and especially explosive power…power that transfers very well into just about all of your common sports and day to day activities. Don’t believe me? Check out this list of 7 Reasons You Should Fall in Love with Box Jumps.
***NOTE THAT ALL BOX JUMPS WILL INVOLVE STEPPING DOWN FROM THE BOX – (NOT JUMPING OFF BACKWARDS FROM THE BOX) AFTER COMPLETING EACH REP!!!***
After I provide an overview of the equipment, some safety precautions, and a demonstration on proper movement standards, you will all have a chance to practice at 6″ or 12″. Once complete, we’ll get our fitness on our 2nd partner workout of the semester!
