13-14OCT16: “GRIFF”

Before we complete our 2nd ‘Hero WOD’ this semester, today’s workout will provide you all with another opportunity to earn a new PR! Specifically, we will be completing ‘1 Min Max Sit-Ups’ attempt #2. Should you beat your # of sit-ups earned from your first attempt (19-20SEPT16) by one or more, congrats! You’ve earned another PR and you are welcome to ring the coveted PR Bell!

Once complete, we will learn about the hero we are honoring today:“Griff,” aka USAF SSgt Travis L. Griffin, 28, was killed April 3, 2008 in the Rasheed district of Baghdad by an IED strike to his vehicle. While most Airmen (those who serve in the Air Force) deploy for only 4-6 month tours (?!?), SSgt Griffin volunteered to serve an entire year in Iraq. His mission put him in harms way daily, as he worked with a unit that helped build and trained Iraqi’s new police forces. Travis is survived by his son Elijah.
